Updated 11-27 evening:  

The victim has been identified as Justin R. Robinson, a 19 year old male from Cheyenne.  The manner of death is homicide.  The cause of death is one gunshot wound to the head.  Robinson was shot behind the right ear and the bullet exited out by the left ear. 

 

Updated 11-27 afternoon:

The Laramie County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the body found Sunday afternoon as a homicide.

Authorities have identified the man as a local resident, but are waiting to release his name until next of kin are notified.

Law enforcement looking into if there is a connection between the dead man, and a reported shooting in the county early Sunday morning,  Blood was found at the scene and a vehicle similar to the one that was found burned was spotted leaving the area.  A gun was also found at the scene of the reported shooting, that is believed  have been stolen during a burglary in Cheyenne. 

 

On Sunday, November 26, 2017, deputies were dispatched to Burlington Road on the report of a vehicle that appeared to have been burned. The call initially went to the Cheyenne Police Department but the vehicle was determined to be in the county.

At approximately 1330 hours deputies were canvassing the area on Burlington Road by Reservoir 1, it was at that time one of the deputies saw what appeared to be a deceased body floating in the water. The body was located next tot he shore line. At this point we know we have a deceased white or Hispanic male who appears to be in his early 20’s.

The body has been turned over to the Laramie County  Coroner’s Office. An autopsy will be conducted Monday, it will be then investigator’s will hopefully be able to determine a cause of death.

The vehicle that was burned appeared to be some type of Lincoln SUV/Crossover. At this time year, model, color remains to be determined. An Arson Investigator has been called to the scene to investigate the cause and origin of the fire.

At this time the identification of the male remain unknown. The Sheriff’s Department is asking if anyone know of anyone missing to call the Sheriff’s Department at 307-633-4775.

The case remains under investigation.
