Cheney Raises More Money Than Opponents

Liz Cheney continues to dominate fundraising among the nine Republican candidates for Wyoming’s seat in the U.S. House, bringing in several times more money than her rivals.

Records show Cheney raised more than $1.2 million over the first six months of the year. Through June, she still had more than $640,000 left.

That’s more than eight times more money raised and almost eight times more money left than state Rep. Tim Stubson, the fundraising runner-up. Stubson raised just under $140,000. He had almost $83,000 left with help from a $60,000 loan he made to his campaign.

State Sen. Leland Christensen ranks third for fundraising. Christensen raised about $107,000 and still had about $64,000 left.

Second-quarter reports were due to the Federal Elections Commission last Friday.
