Cheyenne Animal Shelter Offers Dog Training Workshop

By Staff – 19 Sept ’14

The Cheyenne Animal Shelter will offer a basic training class for all adopted dogs beginning in October. The class – the Adoption Option Workshop – will take place once a week in the evening, for no more than an hour in the community room of the shelter. This class is open to all dog adopters within a month of their adoption. If the class is attended the adopters will receive a $20 rebate.

The Cheyenne Animal Shelter believes that when bringing in a new family member it is important to understand reasonable expectations of that furry friend. Many of the dogs at the shelter have gone through a lot of change in a small amount of time, and going to a new home is another big change. We want each and every adoption to be a good experience for the person and pet alike, and training classes such as the Adoption Option Workshop is a great step towards a smooth transition.

The Adoption Option Workshop will be taught by certified CAS staff. Leaning styles, communication techniques and basic obedience training will be covered. There will also be time at the end for specific questions or concerns. For more information on the Adoption Option Workshop or to save your place today please contact Daniela at the Cheyenne Animal Shelter at (307)632-6655.
