Cheyenne Police Department Parking Update

CPD   3-12-18

As many Cheyenne residents are now aware, the Cheyenne Police Department has recently taken over parking enforcement and the issuance of parking permits.  Here are this week’s parking updates:

On March 12, the CPD parking enforcement team will begin issuing parking tickets for parking violations.  Warnings will no longer be given and parking tickets can be resolved through the Cheyenne Municipal Court.

For on-street parking simply follow the signs that are posted.  For example, if a vehicle is parked in a two-hour zone for more than two hours, the vehicle is in violation and could receive a parking ticket.  The two-hour parking is enforced Monday through Friday from 8-5.

For residents in “Critical Zones,” your annual on-street parking permit will now be free.

The city of Cheyenne has assessed the signage of existing 2-hour zones and has removed signs in some areas that no longer require 2-hour parking.  The parking zones are being continuously evaluated and this may lead to the removal of other 2-hour parking zones as well.

For those using the City of Cheyenne Parking structures (Cox Parking Structure, Jack R. Spiker Parking Structure, East Lot located at E. 17th St. and Warren Ave), $4 daily and $45 monthly permits can be purchased at the Cheyenne Police Department, 415 W. 18th St. Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
