Children’s Museum Tax To Appear On November Ballot

The Children’s Museum of Cheyenne has gathered enough signatures to put a tax issue on the November ballot.  According to a press release from the Children’s Museum, they turned in around 2,100 signatures from a petition to the Laramie County Clerk’s office.  They need 1309 signatures to get the issue on the ballot, 1943 were checked and processes against the county’s voter registration data base.

The Laramie County Clerk notified the Children’s Museum yesterday they had met the requirement of minimum number of valid signatures.  The Children’s Museum is seeking a one quarter cent economic development sales tax for construction, and maintenance of the Children’s museum and a 300-400 seat music venue in downtown Cheyenne.

The Children’s Museum Of Cheyenne has raised an estimated $3 million of the $20 million needed for construction.
