The City of Cheyenne is making some changes to the door-to-door sales ordinance. The original ordinance required all business doing door-to-door sales to register with the city and pay a $100 fee for a two-week license. It also required businesses to buy city issued ID badges for workers doing door-to-door sales. Councilman Dicky Shanor says the new changes reward door-to-door businesses for doing a professional job.
The original ordinance was passed followingh complaints from residents about aggressive door-to-door sales people. Shanor said the complaints have gone down since the passing of the ordinance.
