Most Fourth Of July Fireworks Illegal In Cheyenne

Officials at Cheyenne Fire & Rescue remind Cheyenne residents that sparklers, smoke devices and novelty fireworks are the only legal consumer fireworks that can be purchased and used within the City of Cheyenne.

“The use of consumer fireworks within the Cheyenne City limits is not allowed on private property except for sparklers, smoke devices and novelties,” said Byron Mathews, Chief of Prevention at Cheyenne Fire & Rescue. “To prevent injuries and possible death, Cheyenne Fire & Rescue encourages residents to leave the fireworks to the professionals.”

Cheyenne Frontier Days and the City of Cheyenne will once again host the annual Fourth of July celebration with free live entertainment and fireworks at Frontier Park Arena. Headlining this year’s show is Tops in Blue, the Air Force’s premier entertainment group.

The park opens at 5:30 p.m. Entertainment begins at 6:00 p.m. with opening act, the Country Club Band. Michael Martin Murphey will take the stage at 8 p.m., followed by the fireworks show at 9:35 p.m.
