Cheyenne Mayor Marian Orr today announced Cheyenne native Eric Fountain to be her Chief of Staff.
As Chief of Staff, Fountain will work closely with department heads to improve coordination and communication and will be the point person for the mayor’s key initiatives.
“I was elected to get things done and putting the right personnel in the right places is step one,” Orr said. “This is a continuation of the restructuring of city government I began two months ago.”
The addition of Fountain to Orr’s staff is a budget-neutral move as Orr reduced the number of department heads in the January reorganization.
“Eric is well-known in our community and commands much respect,” she said. “He was my first choice for this position and I’m grateful that he’s made himself available.”
Fountain has spent the last 10 years as Business Manager for the Cheyenne-based Parsons and Associates law firm. Fountain has served on the Laramie County Community College Paralegal advisory board, the After School Kids Agenda, and The Wyoming Brewers Festival board. Fountain is an inline speed skating coach as well and has coached at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
“We’ve got a lot of work in front of us and I’m glad he’s joining the team,” she said.
