CHEYENNE (AP) – The University of Wyoming Foundation and Colorado State University Research Foundation aren’t disclosing how much money they got from the sale of a ranch they jointly owned in Wyoming.
They’re also not saying who the buyer was.
The foundations closed on the sale of the Y Cross Ranch last week. The ranch went on the market in June with an asking price of $25 million.
The Y Cross sprawls across some 80 square miles of mostly undeveloped high country between Cheyenne and Laramie. UW officials say the sale will create a new endowment in excess of $10 million for their agriculture department.
UW Foundation President Ben Blalock said Monday the foundation is honoring the buyer’s request to remain anonymous and to not disclose the sale terms.
