LARAMIE, Wyo. — The University of Wyoming will focus on a smooth transition to a new president in the coming year.

The Laramie Boomerang reports President Dick McGinity outlined future goals during his State of the University address Thursday afternoon.

He said the university is implementing programs to ensure student preparedness, excellence and statewide engagement.

McGinity ended his speech by saying the presidential search for the coming year will be focused on easing the transition to a new president when his contract expires.

Trustees could select the next president as early as late December.
