Hundreds of people enjoyed music, games, fireworks and other activities outside the state Capitol in Cheyenne in celebration of Wyoming’s 125th birthday.
Wyoming became the 44th state on July 10, 1890.
Bill Harris, of Cheyenne, tells the Wyoming Tribune Eagle that it’s important to remember and celebrate how the state got to where it is today.
Current and former state leaders kicked off Friday’s festivities with remarks from the steps of the Capitol.
Gov. Matt Mead was joined by former Govs. Dave Freudenthal (FREE’-dehn-thawl) and Jim Geringer, and U.S. Sens. John Barrasso and Mike Enzi.
