The Cheyenne Police Department will be conducting extra enforcement of underage drinking laws around this upcoming prom weekend. East High’s prom was rescheduled for April 29 and both Central High School and South High School have their proms scheduled for April 30. While students are encouraged to have a good time at their dances, officers and school district employees will be monitoring for any use of alcohol or other illegal substances. In addition to having officers at the dances, the Cheyenne Police Department will have officers investigating after prom parties. A person who allows an underage drinking party to occur on their property faces arrest or a must appear ticket and a person furnishing alcohol to a minor faces a ticket with a bond of $360. As a reminder, curfew for juveniles is from 1:00 am to 6:00 am on Fridays and Saturdays. The CPD mobile command post will also be utilized this weekend for DUI enforcement.
