Laramie County Candidate Forums Scheduled for General Election

The League of Women Voters of Cheyenne has announced the schedule for their candidate forums for contested political races in Laramie County. The forums are scheduled for Sept. 30, Oct. 1 and Oct. 2, at the Laramie County Commission hearing room and will all start at 5:30 p.m.

In addition, all of the forums will be streamed live with a link on the Laramie County Government Website www.laramiecounty.com and will recorded and posted on the LWV Website, www.wyominglwv.org.

Here is the schedule of the candidate forums:

· Tuesday, Sept. 30, 5:30 pm: Contested legislative races for 14 candidates, who will take the dais in two groups. The races are for Senate
District 7 and House Districts 9, 10, 11, 12, 41 and 42.

· Wednesday, Oct. 1, 5:30 pm: County Commission, 1 Democrat and 3 Republicans. Then the city council candidates will take the dais for a
second round, for Wards 1 and 2. (City council election is non-partisan).

· Thursday, Oct. 2, 5:30 pm: Laramie County School District Board #1. There are 10 candidates, who will take the dais in two groups.

LWV plans for each round to last about an hour. The League will ask 4-5 questions that candidates will have two weeks to prepare, followed by an opportunity for the public to submit written questions.

Once again, LWV will compile an online Voter Guide for all General Election candidates’ written responses. The guide will be posted on the Cheyenne LWV’s page of www.wyominglwv.org.
