Mead Campaign Nixes Gosar’s Call for More Debates

By Associated Press – 4 Sept ’14

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Pete Gosar is calling on Gov. Matt Mead to agree to five additional debates between now and election day with the questions to come from the public listening in online.

Mead’s campaign, however, rejected the idea.

Gosar held a press conference in Cheyenne Thursday to say he believes the public deserves to put questions directly to himself and to Mead, a Republican running for a second four-year term. Gosar said he would welcome the participation of third-party candidates as well.

Gale Geringer is Mead’s campaign manager. She says Mead believes that the two conventional debates already scheduled will provide enough opportunity for all state residents to judge the candidates.
