By Staff 5-7, 2015

Wyoming Superintendent of Public Instruction Jillian Balow will travel with a U.S. Delegation of seven other State Superintendents to Shanghai, China for the U.S. – China State/Provincial Education Leaders Dialogue on May 12-14, 2015. The U.S. – China Dialogue offers an opportunity for leaders of education in the United States and China to learn from one another on advancing reforms of the education system.
Discussion topics will include professional development, rural schools, technology, assessments, 21st century skills, evaluating teachers, and more. The trip will also include visits to local schools to learn more about China’s system in practice.
“It is an honor to be part of the U.S. Delegation in the U.S. – China Dialogue and see China’s educational structure firsthand,” said Superintendent Balow. “They have gone through significant societal shifts to accommodate a modern education system, have focused heavily on transitions into higher education, and have developed strong partnerships with business.”
The Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) will cover costs for the U.S. Delegation.
