Man in Custody after Aggravated Domestic Disturbance

CPD 6-20-19

The Cheyenne Police Department has Robert Drummond, 60, of Cheyenne, in custody following an aggravated domestic disturbance which took place in the 1100 block of Gardenia shortly after 9:00 p.m. on June 18.

Cheyenne Police Department officers responded to a 911 call in which the victim stated Drummond was threatening her with a knife. Officers arrived and determined that Drummond had rammed the garage door of the residence with a truck and entered the residence where he put a knife to the victim’s neck and threatened to kill her.

Drummond was attempting to leave in his truck when officers arrived and were able to stop him. Drummond would not comply with officers and held his hands behind his back while telling officers to shoot him. A CPD K9 was deployed and Drummond was successfully detained, sustaining a bite from the K9 in the process. The victim received medical attention from paramedics on scene.

Drummond is receiving medical attention for the bite at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, where he remains in Cheyenne Police Department custody until he is transported to the Laramie County Jail for booking for aggravated assault, DUI and interference. This case remains under investigation by the Cheyenne Police Department.
