Trail Continues For Cheyenne Teen Accused Of Murder

AP 8-20,2015

Testimony continues as the trial of a Wyoming teen accused of fatally shooting a man in the head at point-blank range.

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports (http://bit.ly/1UU9N68 ) that testimony began Monday in the trial of Phillip Sam. He is accused of 12 counts of aggravated assault and one count of first-degree murder in the shooting death of 19-year-old Tyler Burns in Cheyenne last October.

Sam was 16 at the time of the incident but is being tried as an adult.

Police say the shooting happened after the two and several other teenagers met for a prearranged fight over vandalism to a vehicle.

The jury heard testimony Tuesday from other teens who helped arrange the fight and witnessed the shooting.
