Wild Horses Up for Adoption at Cheyenne Frontier Days

A handful of halter-started yearlings have been made available for adoption by silent bid at Cheyenne Frontier Days.

The Bureau of Land Management auctioned one set of yearlings July 18-20, another set of yearlings arrives today with silent bidding going until 1 pm on July 23, and then a final pair will arrive on Thursday to be bid on until 1 pm July 26.

The horses and burros may be views at CFD in the Old Frontier Town across from the General Land Office. All six horses have been halter-started at the Mantle Wild Horse Adoption and Training Facility.

Bidder must complete an adoption application prior to placing a bid. Requirements to adopt include a corral made of pipe or wood and a shelter, a safe, enclosed stock trailer and the ability to provide for the animal.
